Near future: a revolutionary technology is introduced – B.L.I.S.S. – a neural-, chip-based technology from Better-Life Corporation.
B.L.I.S.S. enables you to interconnect with people on a social network, everywhere, every time. The content can be directly absorbed from the user's eyes and shared with interconnected individuals on the social network. But the system is not what it pretends to be.

Motivation:

To create a short film has been a dream of mine since 2009, before my bachelor's thesis. At that time, however, I got the unique opportunity to develop a redesign for the german-french TV channel ARTE. However, the subject of film was not forgotten and so I decided to realize this dream in my master's thesis. The choice of the film theme was very difficult. On the one hand, you want to produce a film that does justice to yourself and your ideas, on the other hand, it should reach a wide audience. Since I'm a big fan of fictional stories myself, it quickly became clear that the short film should go in the direction of science fiction. So I set myself the task to realize a complex short film from "Script-to-Finish". During the story development it became clear that the idea for the film was not so fictional and a main theme emerged - social networks. The film explores the aspect of fully interconnecting people through a fictional social network and explores what might happen if such technology were already available. What happens to the personal data of the user? Will we become a "glass human being" soon? Is there a possibility of more and more individual monitoring in all areas of life? How far is one ready to go to be connected anywhere, anytime? Experimental images, electronic sounds and flashbacks take the viewer into the world of a young couple that comes into contact with a new social technology. The main part of the master's thesis is the production of an experimental short film from concept to planning, production and postproduction.
